Call Committee Pastor Ted Moeller, who was called by Faith at its April 5 Call Meeting, has regretfully declined our call. The Search Committee is accepting new pastor nominations through July 19 for evaluation as a list is prepared for the congregation’s consideration for a new call vote.
Search Committee The next meeting of the Pastoral Search Committee is Wednesday, July 8, 6:30pm. All Search Committee meetings, except those when confidential pastor information is reviewed, are held in an open format for general member input. You may speak with any member of the Search or Call Committees for more information: Norm Steen, Search Committee Chairman, and Cheryl Steen (687-8711); Doug Wyant (686-9289); Gary and Mary Heller (687-1915); Chuck Pierce, Call Committee Chairman (687-6719); Ken Mall (687-2859); Bryan Breitenfeld (689-5529); Steve Johnson (686-7364); and Jim Schriever (687-4571).
Vacancy Pastor Rev. Mark Reiner has agreed to serve Faith as Vacancy Pastor until a new pastor arrives. We thank Pastor Mark for leading us in worship today. Pastor Mark is available in the office for visits every Tuesday, 1:00-5:00 pm, and available by appointment at other times. If you have a need that Pastor Mark can help with, please call the church office at 687-2303.
Adult Bible Class Now studying the Apostle Peter’s first letter! During Sunday morning Adult Bible Class, Pastor Mark is leading us through the book of First Peter. This book encourages Christians who are suffering to live holy lives by reminding them of the eternal inheritance they have in Christ. Invite a friend to join you! Please join us in the Choir Room every Sunday morning at 9:15am.
Worship Changes Next Saturday, July 11, is the last occurrence of our "Foundations" worship service. Starting July 15, we will start a new mid-week worship service every Wednesday evening, 7:00pm. The benefits of this change are many: to allow for an alternative worship opportunity for those whose recreation or work plans make Saturday or Sunday worship impractical; to offer a casual, comfortable worship experience, both for the special opportunity it presents for us to invite our unchurched friends, neighbors, and associates and for us who prefer this style of worship; and to provide another worship time for those who desire to worship more frequently than once a week! Please invite a friend and join us on Wednesday, July 15, 7:00pm, and every Wednesday thereafter!
Mission Quilters Sewers and non-sewers can help! Faith Ladies Guild has an active group making quilts for Lutheran World Relief/Human Care, ordinarily meeting the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. Our next quilt day is Wednesday, July 8, 1:00-4:00 pm. Please come and stay as long as you can! Can’t make it to quilt making days? You can still participate! Kits with pre-cut squares to assemble into quilt tops are available for those who wish to help. Please call Arlene Koons at 687-9643 or Patty Steiner at 687-7423 for complete details.
Volunteer Opportunities Cradle Roll Volunteer We are seeking a volunteer to take over the Cradle Roll ministry at Faith. This volunteer mails out information to new parents on a regular basis to encourage them in their role as Christian parents and pray for the families who receive the mailings. All materials will be provided and this ministry can be done from your home. Please contact the church office (687-2303 or faithwp@mindspring.com) for more information or to volunteer! Lay Reader Scheduler/Greeter Scheduler We are seeking a couple of volunteers to take over the scheduling of Lay Readers and Greeters. This simple task involves scheduling the people who have already volunteered as lay readers and greeters, so that each worship service has lay readers and greeters serving. Please contact the church office (687-2303 or faithwp@mindspring.com) to learn more or to volunteer! Many thanks for your cheerful service!
Bulletin Folding Thanks to all who helped fold bulletins last week! Volunteers are needed this Friday morning, July 10, at 9:00 a.m. Come for fellowship and service!
Children’s Bulletins Every week we have bulletins for children ages 3-6 years old and 7-12 years old. All children are invited to take these bulletins, especially for them!
Nursery Care We welcome and encourage your children to be in worship with you every week! However, if they become fussy or your own worship experience requires it, nursery is available for children ages birth through 5 years old, during the Sunday School hour and the 10:30am worship service. Be sure to sign them in for loving and safe care with a Faith volunteer. Would you like to join us on the nursery volunteer rotation? We’d love to have you join us in serving God through nursery care of the children of Faith. Please call Lisa Ross at 575-0269 for more information or to volunteer.
Attendance Registration In the bulletin today and every week, you will find an attendance registration card. In order to better care for our members and guests, we are asking everyone to register your attendance in worship every week. You may place your completed card in the offering plate as it is passed or hand it to an usher following worship. After you fill out your attendance registration card, tear off the cover and take it with you. Use this little card as a tool to invite friends, neighbors, co-workers, and associates to church with you!
